"Acoustic" actually means Acoustic-electric

No solid-body electric guitars (or basses)
No Hollow-body electrics
No keyboards
No effects pedals
No outside amplifiers (everything through the PA)
NO other electronic instruments.

(Keep It Acoustic!)
_____________________________________________________________
Acoustic-Electric guitars, acoustic-electric basses, and other acoustic-electric instruments can be plugged into the PA head.

Microphones are be available for instruments
with no pickup,
and for vocals.

With everyone plugging in, we will only have one rhythm guitar plugged into the sound system at a time.

That means that if the singer is providing his/her own rhythm guitar, other rhythm guitars can play along, but once we establish who’s “The” rhythm player, other instruments that are plugged-in or being mic’d need to be playing lead/fill parts.

There are floor-mounted microphones for vocals, and for straight-acoustic people to play into.

There are 3 stand-mounted mics set up for instruments/vocals. If we have more than two lead instruments at a time that don’t have pickups, players will just have to step up to the mic with it when it’s time to solo, like in an old-time Bluegrass setup.

HYBRID Format

While this IS a Jam Session Format, (where anyone who can contribute to a song is always free to do so) performers (or groups of performers) are allowed to clear the stage and solo for a space of 3 songs per night, if they wish.

The format will actually be a cross between "Jam" and "Open Mic".

As always, Original Material is encouraged, but not required.
